A new feature has appeared in the web version of Google Drive — now in the sidebar with Gemini, you can get a summary of the video and ask questions about its content. To do this, simply open the video in the player and click on the Gemini icon in the upper right corner. The model immediately forms a “Summary of this content” and offers prompts like “Outline the main conclusions” or “List actions,” which is especially useful for those who store video recordings of work meetings.

Users can also ask their own questions, such as “What are the main points?” or clarify other details about the video. The update complements the existing ability to analyze PDF files, expanding the list of content types that Gemini works with in Google Drive.
The feature is available to subscribers of Google One AI Pro and above, as well as users of Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus plans, and owners of the Gemini Education or Gemini Education Premium add-ons. The rollout of the new capability will occur gradually over several weeks.
