Google is updating the Google AI Studio platform, which serves as a tool for working with the Gemini API, in response to developer feedback. One of the new features currently being tested is the ability to visually render the interface directly from code generated with the Gemini model. After activating this option, developers can view and edit the interface — for example, a TypeScript-based UI — right in the editor, allowing them to see changes in the application in real time.
This feature is integrated into an environment positioned as a “sandbox” for creating and testing applications using AI. Developers can not only write code with Gemini, but also immediately interact with the result, streamlining the process of developing and improving applications.
Additionally, a hidden “Usage” tab has appeared in the “Dashboard” section, which is currently under development. It will potentially provide data on Gemini API usage directly in AI Studio, enabling developers to access up-to-date information on resource consumption and monitor it within the platform.
These capabilities help developers test and configure applications faster, as well as track costs and performance without having to switch to external dashboards or keep manual records. The official launch of the new features may happen soon, given Google’s prompt response to user feedback.
