Google announced the launch of the AI assistant Gemini on Google TV devices. From now on, users will be able to communicate with Gemini by voice or text, receiving recommendations for movies and series, information about previous seasons, content selection for different family members, and quick search by description, even if the title is forgotten. Gemini answers questions about movie reviews and also assists in everyday tasks, such as doing homework, finding ideas for school projects, or planning trips.
The new AI is already available on TCL QM9K TVs and will later appear on Google TV Streamer, Walmart onn 4K Pro, 2025 Hisense U7, U8, and UX, as well as on 2025 TCL QM7K, QM8K, and X11K. Google plans to gradually expand the list of supported models, including devices with a microphone in the remote control. Developers promise to add new features, focusing on user needs.
Gemini allows for natural dialogues and adapts responses to the age of the interlocutor, for example, explaining complex topics in simple language for younger students. The assistant is not limited to television questions and can become a helper in learning, organizing leisure, or acquiring new skills. Gemini is also capable of adjusting the display of information based on the distance to the screen, changing the size and simplicity of content presentation.
Google emphasizes that all familiar voice commands that worked through the previous Google Assistant remain available. The update occurs automatically, and users can take advantage of the new features without additional settings. In the future, the company plans to implement additional features, including integration with TV sensors and the possibility of shopping with virtual fittings.
