Figma has opened its AI tool Figma Make to all users, allowing them to create prototypes and applications using plain language descriptions. Initially, this feature was available only to Full Seat subscribers, but now owners of any account type can try Figma Make, although features depend on the subscription plan. Users with free and basic plans can experiment with the tool in their drafts, while only those with full access can publish finished projects.
Figma Make stands out among similar tools by allowing users to add images or mockups from Figma to the request, helping the AI better understand the desired look of the final product. Users can upload a design example or photo, describe the needed function — for example, an animated music player — and receive a ready prototype. Individual elements, such as fonts or text formatting, can be changed with additional requests or manually.
Additionally, with the full launch of Figma Make, the company introduced other AI-based features. These include the Make and Edit image tool, which generates or modifies images based on text descriptions, as well as the ability to enhance low-resolution images.
Figma is also introducing an AI credit system, which users spend on the platform’s AI tools. The number of credits depends on the subscription type. Full Seat owners currently have unlimited access, while others receive fewer credits but will be able to purchase more later.
