The company Figma introduced a new image editing toolbar that consolidates all capabilities in one place. Users can select an object using the “lasso” and then use the “Erase” function to remove it or “Isolate” to separate it from the background. The new features are AI-based and available in Figma Design and Figma Draw.
The tools allow for quick removal of objects from photos, isolating them for further movement, and expanding images beyond their original size. This enables image editing without switching to other platforms. All new capabilities are integrated with the existing “lasso” tool, which allows for area selection.
After selecting an object, the user can instantly remove it along with background filling or leave only the object itself for further use. Such changes simplify working with illustrations, photos, and layouts without the need for external editors. The new tools are aimed at designers, illustrators, and anyone working with visual content.
The update is already available for Figma users and allows for significantly faster completion of basic image editing tasks within a single service. This expands creative possibilities and saves time during project preparation.
