DuckDuckGo has decided to launch its own AI chat, which, in line with the core philosophy of this search engine, is anonymous and, according to the developers, does not train on your data. Currently, DuckDuckGo AI Chat combines several powerful artificial intelligence models: GPT, Claude, Llama, and Mixtral.
The developers have even described the “personalities” of the models for quick user selection:

The interface? Familiar and simple, just like in all other AI chats. However, many familiar and even essential options and tools are still missing. And that’s not surprising, since the service is still in “beta.” The developers have implemented a “minimally necessary interface” and will likely expand the functionality gradually. The chat history, as you’d expect from an anonymous chat, is not saved.
There are usage limits, although there’s no detailed information about them yet. Since the service, as is customary for DuckDuckGo, does not store IP addresses, the issue can be resolved by re-entering the page in incognito mode.
