The head of Google DeepMind, Demis Hassabis, announced that his team is working on creating a “next-generation email” based on generative AI. According to him, the development aims to help users efficiently organize correspondence, automatically respond to typical messages in the user’s own style, and make simple decisions regarding emails.
Hassabis noted that the new feature will eliminate the routine associated with email processing and significantly save time. To attract potential clients, he stated that he is willing to pay significant amounts for the opportunity not to deal with daily emails himself if this system works efficiently.
In addition to working with email, Hassabis sees broad possibilities for the application of a universal assistant based on AI, which knows the user well, offers useful recommendations, and protects from distracting algorithms. In his opinion, such solutions can help people focus on important tasks and make everyday tasks simpler.
