Microsoft announced the launch of Copilot Vision for Windows — an extension of its AI assistant’s features that allows screen sharing or individual apps for real-time assistance. Users can select a specific browser window or application for Copilot Vision to analyze what is seen and assist with various tasks, such as explaining Adobe Photoshop features or understanding web pages and photos.
Copilot Vision operates within the Copilot app on Windows and is activated via a special icon in the shape of glasses. The model only interacts after the user consciously grants access to a specific window or program — there is no continuous tracking like in the Recall feature. Once activated, Copilot can highlight important elements on the screen, offer suggestions, and answer questions.
The launch of Copilot Vision is free for Windows 10 and Windows 11 users in the U.S., and no Copilot Pro subscription is required to use this feature. The model remains part of the experimental Copilot Labs initiative but is available to a wide range of users.
Besides Windows, Copilot Vision can also be used on mobile devices running iOS and Android. This opens up additional opportunities for users to receive tips or explanations while working with various apps or viewing content, which can simplify the completion of everyday tasks.
