Participants of the Windows Insiders program will soon see a new Copilot icon in the Paint app. This feature will appear in the Dev and Canary versions thanks to an update that is already starting to roll out. By clicking the Copilot icon on the taskbar, users will get access to a menu with generative tools such as Cocreator, Image Creator, and Generative Erase.
Over the past year, Microsoft has been adding AI-powered image generation tools to Paint, including the DALL-E-based Cocreator at the end of 2023 and generative fill options. Now, all these tools are gathered in one place.
In addition, Windows 11 Insiders users are getting an update for AI-powered search, which was launched in preview earlier this month. Now, “enhanced search” allows you to find photos in the cloud using natural language. Previously, AI-based search was limited to local files only. When searching, users will see cloud files alongside local images. This update is available for Windows 11 Insiders in the Dev and Beta channels.
