Coca-Cola has introduced a new series of holiday commercials created with the help of generative AI. Three studios worked on the project: Secret Level, Silverside AI, and Wild Card. The company stated that this is its “exciting step in using technology to create magic and happiness.”
To create the video, tools such as Stable Diffusion, DALL·E, ChatGPT, and the proprietary Director Magic were used. According to studio representatives, the process was revolutionary — in just a few days, they created 110 different versions of the ad.
Despite the scale, the audience’s reaction turned out to be mixed. Viewers criticize the commercials for their synthetic feel and the lack of the very “magic” they expect from Coca-Cola’s holiday ads. On social media, they have already been dubbed “trash.”
