The Claude app by Anthropic now features a voice mode, currently being tested in a hidden mode. Users can already interact with the AI by voice, choosing from four voice options — two female and two male. Voice mode supports web search: during a search, a list of sources appears on the screen along with the answer, and the responses themselves are divided into easy-to-read points.

Thanks to the new feature, you can upload files — images or PDFs — and discuss them with Claude by voice. All responses are displayed in a scrollable format with indicators showing which stage of the conversation the user is at. You can view previous parts of the dialogue simply by scrolling through the screen.
Voice mode works on a push-to-talk principle: the user speaks first, then presses a button to send the message, after which Claude responds. You can’t interrupt the model while it’s answering, but this approach allows you to control the flow of the conversation and makes usage more predictable.
The model stands out for its stable performance with voice input and confidently handles pauses or changes mid-sentence. Adding voice mode complements the recently introduced web search feature on mobile devices, expanding Claude’s capabilities for those who prefer voice communication and working with files.
