The company Anthropic added to its AI chat Claude the ability to create and edit documents directly in the browser and desktop application. Now users can receive not just text responses, but ready-made files — Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, presentations, and PDFs.
The feature is available in preview mode for users of the Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. It will be opened for the Pro plan in the coming weeks. The new capabilities allow working with Claude as a full-fledged tool for creating files. You can upload data or simply describe the task — the AI will generate the required result with working formulas, formatting, and outputs.
According to Anthropic, Claude can now turn “raw data into clean tables, graphs, statistical conclusions, and explanations.” It is also capable of transforming documents between formats — for example, from PDF to presentation, or from notes to a structured text file.
The key change is Claude’s access to a separate virtual computer. In this environment, it can run programs, write code, and create files from scratch. As the developers note: “We are transforming Claude from an advisor to an active co-author.”
You can enable the new feature through the settings in the Experimental tab. After that, it is enough to describe the task or upload data — the AI will complete the project, and the result can be saved to the computer or Google Drive.
