Anthropic introduced a new memory feature for the chatbot Claude. Now users can quickly find and review previous conversations with Claude without losing progress on their projects. In a demonstration video, Anthropic showed how Claude summarizes old chats at the user’s request and offers to continue working on the same task.
The feature works on the web version, desktop, and mobile devices . It allows conversations to be saved separately for different projects and workspaces. To activate it, go to “Settings” under the “Profile” tab and enable the “Search and reference chats” option.
Currently, this feature is available for users of the Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. Anthropic announced that the feature will soon be available for other plans as well. Unlike ChatGPT from OpenAI, Claude does not create a user profile and does not save data automatically, but only searches for information in previous chats upon request.
Developers noted that the new feature will help conveniently continue working on ideas, refer to old discussions, and not start from scratch. This allows users to manage their projects more effectively and quickly return to important topics.
