OpenAI has introduced a new app for ChatGPT users on Windows. Currently, the app is available only to users with Plus, Team, Enterprise, and Edu plans. This is an early version, which, according to the company, will become part of the “full experience” later this year.
The app allows users to work with files and images, as well as access the latest features of the OpenAI model. It is integrated with the DALL-E 3 image generator and supports quick access via the Alt + Space keyboard shortcut.
Although ChatGPT for Windows already works on most Windows 10 devices, it has some limitations. For example, there is currently no support for voice mode and some features related to the OpenAI GPT Store are missing.
OpenAI notes that this app “offers the latest model improvements, including access to OpenAI o1-preview.” Like the macOS version, the app can run in a compact window alongside other applications, making multitasking easier.
You can download the Windows app from the dedicated ChatGPT apps and programs download page.
