OpenAI has announced the launch of a new feature for ChatGPT — “Memory with Search.” This allows the AI model to use information from previous conversations with the user, such as food preferences or place of residence, when performing internet searches. As a result, answers become more personalized and relevant to the user’s interests.
Thanks to this feature, when a user asks a question that requires an internet search, ChatGPT can rephrase the query, taking into account saved details. For example, if the AI remembers that the user follows a vegan diet and lives in San Francisco, it can automatically refine the search query as “good vegan restaurants, San Francisco.”
“Memory with Search” is part of an update in which the AI model also gained access to the entire history of communication with the user. If desired, this feature can be disabled in ChatGPT settings by turning off “Memory.”
Some users have already noted the appearance of this feature, although its availability is being rolled out gradually. OpenAI continues to improve ChatGPT to make interactions more convenient and useful for a wide range of users.
