Canva has announced an expansion of its platform’s functionality through the integration of new generative AI features. Among the new tools is the Canva AI assistant, which can perform a variety of tasks, from creating images based on user instructions to generating design ideas such as social media materials or print layouts. Additionally, the assistant can write texts and create documents.
One of the key innovations is the Canva Code tool, which allows users to create mini-apps such as interactive maps or calculators that can be integrated into designs. This feature was developed in collaboration with Anthropic. Canva is also enhancing its photo editor by adding tools for editing artifacts in photos and generating backgrounds that take lighting and object placement into account.
For corporate users, Canva introduces Canva Sheets — a spreadsheet tool that supports integration with services such as HubSpot, Statista, and Google Analytics. Canva Sheets is equipped with the Magic Insights feature, which automatically analyzes data and provides useful insights, as well as Magic Charts, which transforms numerical data into branded charts.
Canva aims to unite all its tools into a single platform, allowing users to work on documents, presentations, animations, and websites within one interface. This enables teams to collaborate on different aspects of a project simultaneously, eliminating the need for separate tools and scattered files. In this way, Canva seeks to attract more corporate teams and businesses to its user community, which already numbers 230 million people.
