Anthropic has officially launched desktop apps for its AI chatbot Claude for Mac and Windows. According to the company’s blog, the new apps “bring Claude’s capabilities directly into your favorite work environment,” providing users with convenient access to the AI tool on their computers. Users can download the app in both the free version of Claude and with a subscription to Anthropic’s premium plans.
Unfortunately, the desktop versions of Claude do not include the new Computer Use feature, which allows the model to perform tasks on the user’s computer. For now, it is only available in the web version.
Previously, Anthropic released a new tool for Claude AI that enables JavaScript code execution directly in the chat interface. This feature turns Claude into a comprehensive data analysis assistant capable of processing information in real time.
