Anthropic has received about one billion dollars in investment from Google to implement a number of important product updates this year. This information was first reported by the Financial Times. Thanks to the new investment, Google’s total stake in Anthropic has grown to approximately three billion dollars. At the end of last year, Google invested two billion dollars in Anthropic.
Anthropic also plans to raise up to two billion dollars from investors, including Lightspeed. The company has an ambitious plan for 2025. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei yesterday shared in a series of interviews about plans to launch new AI models, introduce “two-way” voice chat, and provide internet access for its chatbot Claude.
In addition, Anthropic plans to launch a system called “Virtual Collaborator.” According to Amodei, this system will run on PCs, perform workflows, write and compile code, and check results. Interaction with users will take place through apps such as Slack and Google Docs.
According to Crunchbase, Anthropic has currently raised a total of $14.7 billion, with a valuation of sixty billion dollars. The company is actively working on developing generative AI and expanding the functionality of its products.
