Anthropic is actively working on expanding the capabilities of its chatbot Claude by integrating voice features. According to the company’s Chief Product Officer, Mike Krieger, Anthropic plans to launch new features that will allow users to interact with AI models using their voice. The company has already developed prototypes and is in talks with partners such as Amazon and ElevenLabs regarding further development of voice features for Claude.
Additionally, Anthropic announced a new feature for Claude — the ability to search the internet. This feature is currently available in preview mode for paid users in the US and will later become available to free users and in other countries. Users can enable web search in their profile settings, after which Claude will automatically search for information on various websites, adding source links for fact-checking.
The integration of web search gives Claude the ability to access up-to-date information from the internet, making it more useful for tasks that require current data. This allows the model’s knowledge to be expanded with real-world insights and provides answers based on the latest information. In addition, Anthropic notes that Claude provides direct quotes to facilitate source verification, which increases trust in the information received.
Thanks to these new features, Claude can now compete with other chatbots such as ChatGPT by OpenAI and Gemini by Google, which already offer web search capabilities. At the same time, Anthropic emphasizes the importance of information accuracy and provides mechanisms for source verification to prevent the spread of false data.
