Anthropic has begun gradually rolling out “voice mode” for its chatbot Claude’s mobile applications. The new feature allows users to have conversations with Claude using voice — both asking questions and receiving answers in a voice format. At this stage, “voice mode” is in beta version in English, and the rollout is happening gradually over the coming weeks.

By default, the feature is based on the Claude Sonnet 4 model. During voice communication with Claude, key points of the response are displayed on the screen, and after the conversation ends, the user can view a text transcript and a brief summary. Five different voice options for Claude are available, as well as the ability to quickly switch between voice and text communication modes.
“Voice mode” allows using Claude for working with documents, images, or quick calendar summaries — for example, when hands are busy but assistance is needed. For paid subscribers, integration with Google Workspace is available, allowing information retrieval from Google Calendar and Gmail, while connection to Google Docs is available only for Claude Enterprise plan users.
Voice conversations count towards the overall usage limit of Claude — most free users can expect twenty to thirty conversations.
