Anthropic has started testing a new voice mode in the Claude app for iOS. Currently, the feature is available only in English and offers three voice options — Mellow, Airy, and Buttery. This allows users to interact with the AI by voice, choosing the tone that suits them best.
The voice interface features a plus-marked button that opens a file upload menu. There are three options available — camera, gallery, or files. Uploaded documents and images are displayed directly on the voice mode screen, enabling conversations with Claude about the sent photos or text files.
In addition to the voice mode, the company is working on extra features. Among them are search in Gmail and Calendar, which have already appeared in the feature list marked as “beta,” along with Drive search that was added earlier. These tools are still hidden in the mobile and web versions but are being prepared for launch for all users.
The mobile app has also updated its text editor: the reasoning feature is now placed as a separate button, matching the latest changes in the web interface. These innovations make it more convenient to interact with Claude and use various formats for communication and file handling.
