Alibaba has released an updated version of its AI-based platform — Qwen Chat v0.2. This update introduces new features designed to help users boost productivity and creative capabilities.

Qwen Chat v0.2 integrates three core features: web search, text-to-video generation, and image creation from text descriptions. These additions expand the platform’s existing capabilities, such as document analysis and image understanding, making Qwen Chat a versatile tool for both professional and creative tasks.

Alibaba also announced a new open language model, Qwen2.5-1M. It can process up to one million tokens in a single context, making it suitable for tasks that require handling large volumes of text, such as document summarization and long-form text generation. The models are available on various platforms, including Alibaba’s Qwen Chat, Hugging Face, and Modelscope.

To support the new models, Alibaba has also launched a high-performance infrastructure that integrates sparse attention methods. This enables processing of one million tokens at speeds three to seven times faster than traditional approaches, while maintaining accuracy.

The Qwen Chat v0.2 update was officially launched on January 26, 2025. The platform is available via a dedicated web interface, where users can interact with the new features through intuitive chat interface toggles.
