Adobe has announced the launch of its generative AI tool for video creation, now available for public testing in open beta. The Generate Video tool, which includes Text-to-Video and Image-to-Video features, allows users to create videos based on text descriptions or by using images as references. This innovation follows limited testing last year and can now be found on the updated Firefly page.
Users can customize results by specifying styles, camera angles, movements, and distances. Videos are now output in 1080p at 24 frames per second, an improvement over the previous 720p quality.
The updated Firefly web app, in addition to a new interface, now integrates with Creative Cloud apps such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Express, making it easier to edit and transfer materials. Since Firefly is trained on public domain content and licensed sources, it is safe for commercial use, making it attractive to users.
Adobe is also launching two Firefly subscription plans that provide credits for using Firefly models. The Firefly Standard plan starts at $9.99 per month and includes 2,000 credits for video and audio, while the more expensive Firefly Pro plan starts at $29.99 and provides 7,000 credits. Both plans offer unlimited access to image generation capabilities.
